Terms of Service

By using Web Diff Learning ("the Service") you agree to the terms below. They are written in plain language on purpose.

1. What the Service is

The Service is a free, public-page comparison tool. You paste two URLs, and we fetch the readable text, summarise the differences, and (if you have signed in as a demo member and provided your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint) optionally produce a knowledge graph.

2. No fees, no accounts, no subscriptions

• There is no charge for any feature.
• There is no account registration, no payment processor, no subscription tier.
• "Demo member" is a 24-hour signed cookie for unlocking the knowledge-graph endpoints. It does not create a user account and does not confer any ownership of the Service.
• Because there is no charge, there is no refund mechanism.

3. What you must not do

• Do not submit URLs that require authentication, payment, or age verification.
• Do not submit URLs that you do not have the legal right to access or copy.
• Do not use the Service to bypass paywalls, anti-bot controls, terms-of-service restrictions, or copyright protection mechanisms.
• Do not use the Service to scrape, mirror, or redistribute third-party content at scale.
• Do not attempt to overload the Service (no automated bulk requests, no denial-of-service attempts).

4. The knowledge-graph feature

• The feature is opt-in and requires a demo-member cookie plus an OpenAI-compatible baseUrl, model, and apiKey.
• The API key is held only in your browser tab memory. It is never written to disk, cookies, downloads, or our logs. Closing or refreshing the tab clears it.
• You are responsible for any usage billed by your model provider. We do not proxy, store, or take a fee on those calls.
• The model output is generated by a third-party system. We do not endorse, verify, or warrant its accuracy.

5. Service is provided "as is"

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that comparisons or knowledge graphs will be accurate. Public pages may be removed, edited, or rate-limited; this affects our ability to fetch them. The Service may be changed, paused, or discontinued at any time without notice.

6. Intellectual property

• The Service source code is provided under the project's published licence (see the repository on GitHub).
• You retain whatever rights you already have in content you submit or that you generate from your own model.
• The content of third-party pages you submit belongs to its original owner. The Service makes transient, non-persistent copies only for the purpose of running the comparison.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided without any warranty, and the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may rate-limit, block, or modify the Service for any reason, including to protect the Service or its users.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "Effective" date at the top will move when the content changes materially. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
